Hi.

I have a weird problem. My laptop (XP home, wireless) and my desktop ( XP pro, connected with a wire ) are both connected to my router ( Belkin Pre N ).

I can see each computer on the network and share files but when I want to listen to music that is on my desktop with my laptop it can't see every files in the directories. I often miss the first 3 song of the albums. And in other directories where I store pictures, video or text my laptop can't see any file. It opens the directory and there is no error message but the directory seems completely empty.

I have a third desktop computer that has Xp Media Center Edition 2005 also connected to the router and it sees all the files that are on my first desktop without a problem.

Thank you for helping me!

Check this post.

Apparently, the solution was to enable LFN support:

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\
Name: Win31FileSystem
Type: REG_WORD
Value: 1 Disable Long Filename Support
Value: 0 Enable Long Filename Support

I tried what you said but it didn't work.
It was already enabled. I even tried to disable it and enable it again but no luck.
Do you have another idea that I should try ?

Thank you!
