I have a network set up in my house in which one computer is hosting the files for the rest of the house. It was running fine until I decided to fix the many issues (adware and other junk) that were infesting the "server" PC. I decided to just re-inistialize instead of manually removing the junk. So I reformatted the drive that had the OS on it and installed Windows XP pro SP2 on it. I re-set up the drives so they will share files and the computer that is connected to the router via an ethernet cable will transfer files back and forth just fine as well as print. But all of the laptops, 3 in total, have a real hard time. For a laptop to transfer a 100 meg file it takes about an hour via wireless card. I haven't done anything to the router when I reset the PC. Manually connecting the laptops to the router doesn't solve the problem either. Nothing has been done to the laptops, the only thing that I redid was the server. I've installed and uninstalled IPX-SPX, TCP-IP, and all the other protocals I have on it to no avail. I've even tried disabling the QOS packet scheduler (which I doubted was the issue) with no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting agrivated with it. All the PC's are in the same work group as well. And incase you need it, my router is a Linksys WRT54G. Thanks in advance.
