I have three computers in a home LAN. One of the three has developed a bad habit of not recognizing the network when starting up after a complete shutdown. If I run the "Setup Home and Small Office Network" wizard, the computer will get on the network with no difficulty. However, I have to do it all the time.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Can you give a little more info on your network? For instanace, are you running a server? Are you using DHCP on either a server or router??
Do all the machines have the same network name?

Three PCs all running XP, all connected through a LinkSys router. All three have been working fine for many months until a couple of days ago. Then one of the computers developed this problem of not recognizing the network when starting up. If I run the network setup wizard, it immediately connects.

The only thing new is I recently changed the router. A new, standard LinkSys 4-port DSL wired router. I configured the router per instructions, for a static IP address, and all works fine except when I shut down computer #3. I may be mistaken, but I don't think the router has anything to do with the problem.
