Need tips for SystemWorks'03 Install

834 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Davey7549
I purchased Norton SystemWorksPro '03 and tried to install it on my XP. Had so many problems, had tried to reinstall. Never installed anything that was so problematic! And, I reinstalled it ove the existing install, not knowing you make a huge mess doing so. Now...want some tips from those who know....
how to clear off the others installs...and Antivirus completely. And then, tips on the new install so I can get this puppy to work! Also...how do you run the Roxio thing, when ya got System Restore...Roxio kept taking over restores...but had no history yet to restore..

THANX FOR YOUR HELP, EVERYONE!!!!:D :D :D ;)

Removing Norton usually is not that complicated but since you installed over an older version things can become sticky.
Here is Norton's instructions for removal of the Antivirus so you can reinstall.

As far as using Go-Back vs System Restore......
You will have to decide which one to use and disable the other.

Keeps us posted to your progress.

FWIW, I think I'd cleanup the old Norton install using the technique on the Symantec support site. Then, I'd install GHOST only and do a complete backup, then start your install.

FWIW, I've installed NSW and NSW Pro 2003 on several dozen machines without incident, but I don't install over old versions, I always uninstall them first.
