Ok,

I have an old computer that I want to give to my brother. I want to stick some new RAM in it first, though.

Link to the motherboard specs are here: http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/ecs/L7VMM2.htm

It says: 2 DDR DIMMs sockets support 2.5V DDR SDRAM (DDR266/DDR200)

The memory I'm looking at is here: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pr...665000FS10038448&catid=10486&logon=&langid=EN

Is it a problem to use DDR400 RAM? Will the motherboard just underclock the memory or will it just not work at all?

Any help appreciated...

I think the memory issue is a touchy one and unless you're willing to deal with the problems that arise from such experimenting (and let me tell you it could be many), I would recommend you stick to the type the mobo supports.

All kinds of instabilities will arise otherwise...

Happy Holidays....
