Ok, just bought and built this comp:
https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersio...tNumber=1967153&WishListTitle=My+New+Computer

Install was a breeze (excluding the fact that the modular cables were huge, stiff, and VERY tough to bend and contort to fit into all the proper spots). Had to tweak the timings on the mem manually, but I hear that's pretty normal.

What i'm wondering is this...how do I use dual-core to it's fullest extent? I'd like to be able to burn dvd's and cd's while playing World of Warcraft or HL2 without worrying about lag. I know NOTHING about how to go about checking the status of both cores, or changing what they handle...(I.E. can I set one core to take care of memory and background processes and have the other one dedicated to programs?)

To put it simply, I know nothing about dual-core computing besides the fact that it's supposed to be great. I have all the driver updates for the mobo, updated the bios to the most recent version. If anyone has info about better/alpha drivers for the mobo/cpu or for the vid card, let me know so i can see if they're worth trying out!

P.S.
I updated my sig to match my new build.

Ok, just ran cpu-z, and it only shows one core.

Am I reading or doing something wrong?

The os basically handles usage of the cpu cores. You can set affinity in task manager for a given task if you really want to.
FWIW I have never had to do this and I have been running a dual core setup for about a year now.
