My PS2 keeps cutting out and going onto standby.I haven't a clue what the hell is going on with it.Any help guys?
Not true..........I am still using my PS2 and it is quite reliable in fact (1st generation PS2 purchased within 6 months of it's initial release)....I have only had to adjust the laser a couple of times, clean the dust out of it every once in a while and avoid dropping / banging it around ........and it is still going strong. Currently playing FF12 on it.Jimbobthepirate said:Consoles are made to eventually become useless after a few years so if you've had it for a while maybe a new one is required my xbox did the exact same thing after 3 years.
Not true. My son has a Gamecube since 4 years. He never had any problem. Tough console !Jimbobthepirate said:Consoles are made to eventually become useless after a few years so if you've had it for a while maybe a new one is required my xbox did the exact same thing after 3 years.
That's incorrect, I've had an xbox for a lonnnnggg time now, and it's worked just fine.Jimbobthepirate said:Consoles are made to eventually become useless after a few years so if you've had it for a while maybe a new one is required my xbox did the exact same thing after 3 years.

It's how you handle them... if you take good care of them, they'll last longer.
Thats probably the laser..either the lens needs to be cleaned or it's aim needs to be adjusted. There is an aiming screw in the laser housing that changes the angle it sits at, I have had to adjust mine a couple times now, real easy to do.Couriant said:[/b]The only thing I have going on it is that it's slow reading the disc to load.
