Hello. I am working with a Lenovo ThinkPad Z61e. It has Windows XP. I was wondering if there is a free upgrade to Windows 7. I know there used to be. This computer was given to my mom and I'm trying to get it as up to date as I can. Not sure how old it is or very many of the specifics. Internet Explorer doesnt really work due to the fact that its XP. I have Firefox in it and Chrome. I appreciate any and all help that you can give. Thank you in advance.

ok. thank you. I thought maybe it would be too old for that but thought it was worth a shot to see if there was anything out there. It was given to my mom in case she needed it when she was having trouble with her desk top. I thank you again for your help. =)
The Lenovo Thinkpad Z61e laptop is a very old model laptop and was designed to run these operating systems:
Windows 2000 Professional SP4 32-bit
Windows XP Home Edition or Professional SP3 32-bit

Besides the fact that it's too old and too slow to run it, there's no such thing as a "free" upgrade to Windows 7.
A legitimate retail copy of Windows 7 would cost more than what that laptop is worth.

If you really want a laptop that runs Windows 7, there are numerous refurbished brands and models that you can buy for $200.00 or less.
