Hi. I’m working on an applet for a chat room and having some trouble with it. I have followed the instructions where I got the applet http://www.freejavachat.com/code.html , put the code on notepad then copied it to FrontPage. When I preview it in FrontPage, it works and looks like it’s supposed to.

When I upload it into my site, http://twobluemoons.20megsfree.com/NA Recovery is Possible.html it appears differently. (I do intend to move it to a better server in the future once I get the bugs worked out. For now, I’m using this free site to experiment on.) The login box is grey instead of black, as intended. I asked a few people to look at it and the people from the help room say it looks black to them and the code looks right. Others have said it looks grey to them also. ?? I’m running xppro and zone alarm pro and I have all the updates…also downloaded the java virtual machine from java sun (1.4.2,_04). I also have the other virtual machine (plug-in?). I don’t think that’s the problem but I sure don’t know what is. Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

It is on the client end where the problem lies. XP does not come natively with a Java VM. I would go to Sun's web site and get theirs.
