What's left depends on your max budget. What do you have left to spend? That will make a huge difference in the AGP card you're going to buy. You're not asking for opinions on what you've already picked out so when you say "the rest" what parts are you going to add to that besides the video card?

how much are you willing to spend?
I wouldn't go pentium 4. They are outdated chips that are not suited for gaming. Go Athlon 64 for minor gaming needs.
The dual core Athlon 64's are so cheap now, and an AM2 mobo isn't spendy either. Video cards are cheap too, it's amazing really.
Also don't go AGP. PCI-Express is so much better.
AGP won't be around much longer, especially after PCI-Express 2 comes out.

Not going over 600? yeah that's very possible.
I didn't even look at the cpu, are you sure that the barebone system you picked out will support a Pentium D?
Either way I still suggest that you go with an AMD system. Give me a few minutes to pick out some parts and you tell me what you think.

Why don't you just throw a video card in that core 2 duo system you have and use it for gaming?

Thats the one i use for My gaming but my fiance like halo flight simulator and those listed and we fight over My system alot and my dells wont play those so im building her a system for her birthday in mid january:)

that looks like a really good system!!!  for dual core etc:up:
ive seen a few nice cases with a 300 watt PSU in them, will that support that hardware and maybe an extra 80 gb later on ?

thanks so much for picking out that system for me:up:

sorry i was out of town for a few days.
Usually you can't replace the motherboards in Dells without going through Dell because they have a custom case size that they use. you can call them and find out though.
But with a gig of RAM and a decent video card that dell system will be just fine for those games, but both of those things depend on what motherboard is in it.

It should support a gig of ram and it does have a PCI express slot. At least from what I gather it does. You can always pop it open and check...
If you ordered the $600 computer I listed obove it will be much faster, but upgrading the Dell will be cheaper. it's your choice.

I used a P4 for a little over a year for gaming, it was alright but now that I see what else is out there I wish I would have gone AMD when I built it.
If you want cheap dual core go with AMD. Call dell and ask them for an AMD mobo. I've used Pentium D's. they suck.
