hola, my name is V. I have had my Power book G4 for only about 4 months and it recently kinda died on me. When I start it up, it stays on a screen that is gray, and after about 2 mins, goes to a darker gray screen that tells me to turn it off or restart it. I don't know what to do! I have the newest version on (panther) and it came with some disks, should I use these? I didn't drop it or anything, it just sorta stopped working on me. Also, my apple warranty only lasts for 90 days (!) so am I out of luck of getting it fixed professionally? I would feel sorta stupid for shelling out over 2 grand for something that only lasts 4 months. Thank you sooo much for anybody that can give me some advice.

Have u tried zappin the PRAM (Hold down alt, apple,P,R) on startup? - let it sound the startup chime 3 times, b4 letting go.

If that doesnt work, try using the restore disks that came with your computer.
Put the restore disk in the CD drive and hold down C to boot from CD ROM, then follow instructions (do a restore in place if it gives u that option).

If your restore disks cannot retrieve the OS, then u may have a hardware fault - graphics card, HD etc.
