Hi, Please help. My Logitec K270 wireless keyboard is not working. It keeps getting disconnected. I changed batteries, does not work. I see on windows driver date shows 2006 whcih does not change even if I update the driver by clicking update driver. I saw some youtube videos show to install Lotitec universal indentifier (or something like that) but this thing cannot even identify my keyboard. If I connect this keyboard 10 times then it works once for 1 hour only. WHen i pug out and then plug in the key board, the system shows error saying windows cannot identify my keyroabrd. any advice? I am using win 10. This keyboard I have been using for 3 years now. Thank you.

Three years is a long time for a wireless keyboard of that price range ($22.00). I just had a keyboard last three weeks.! They usually last 6mos to a year. My advice is to get a new one.

This keyboard I have been using for 3 years now.
Which coincides with the end of its warranty period :(

This does not appear to be driver related else it would not work at all once it did stop working, I suspect that the issue is hardware related and this includes the wireless receiver that gets plugged into a USB port on the computer.

Have you tried the wireless receiver and keyboard on another computer, even a notebook will do.

Have you tried putting the wireless receiver in another USB port on the computer, the black USB 2.0 type port should be used for this type of device.

Have you tried any other wireless keyboard on the computer.

Is there anything nearby that could be interfering with the wireless signal between the keyboard and receiver.

Have you had any problems with the USB ports on this computer.

I used my wireless mouse usb on all other ports and it works on all ports. so ports are good.

NO other keyboards, device to test ]. no friends or family to test. NOthing obstructing the usb wireless receiver.

The keyboard does not work on any of the usb port but sometime works on random basis on every port.

Thanks.

Read thread # 3. Answer all the questions asked by phillpower2. You need to narrow down the possibilities.

If no close friend or neighbor around you, take your keyboard and the receiver unit that is attached to usb port to your library. I imagine public libraries in Canada just like here in the States have a computer tech who can try it at his/her pc.
If it works you know the pc has the issue.

Yes, Phil, I agree Hardware: Unifying receiver might be the problem. (He did not mention this problem before I posted.)
No Next button appears after it is plugged in, indicating it is not recognized.

Sounds like he is plugging and unplugging the keyboard receiver numerous times until it finally gets recognized. But again, either Next doesn't appear or he gets to the next step then the receiver stops working after a period of time because it disconnects again.

I know this is a longshot but I had intermittent problems when I first got my Logitech K350 wireless keyboard. It was very intermittent. Sometimes I had to press a key a bunch of time before the key press was recognized.

Here are a couple of the possible causes mentioned online for solving intermittent Logitech wireless devices. Each is mentioned as a possible source of interference.
  • The Logitech dongle works at 2.4GHz which is the same band as 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. I moved as much as I could to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band.
  • I had the Logitech dongle plugged into a USB 3.0 port. I moved the dongle to a USB 2.0 port.
I am not sure what solved the problem. All I know is that I no longer have a problem with the keyboard.

mihnaz;

your thread (#11) mentions you are using a cordless mouse that works with all the usb ports. You are also saying that the keyboard either doesn't work or occasionally works with different ports.
Did you purchase the mouse and the keyboard separately and two receivers are not working together?
It is possible the pc won't receive the signals from 2 cordless devices together. (on 2 ports)

When I check that model on Amazon (K270) I see that it is not a combo meaning there is no mouse.
If you shop at Amazon perhaps get a two piece unit like this ( MK 270, US $24.24 ) and try. I believe you have two weeks to return it if it doesn't work. (Keep the original box in good shape.)

Are you using the original unifying receiver which came with the keyboard? Is the mouse also a Logitech wireless mouse?
Have you downloaded the Logitech unifying software to pair the keyboard or are you pairing via Windows bluetooth settings?
