Hello everyone,
I haven't a blue screen since I upgraded from 98 to XP many moons
ago, until today. I googled the error name which brought me to
Techguy and an old thread dating back to April 6, 2006 initiated
by texastoy4her concerning a Kernel Data Inpage Error. The query
is the same but my details are different insomuch as windows will
not load. Not normally, or the last good config. or in safe mode.
A few days ago I attempted to install Clearwire Connection
Manager and the driver package for their Motorola wireless pc
card (model number: PCC-2510)on my presario 2100.
Nothing went right, initially the 2 programs would load and the
XP detected new hardware but that is it. The connection mgr icon
in the taskbar would be green for a few secs.then turn red and
indicate that the pc card was unplugged.
Eventually, while on the phone with clearwire tech support, after
unistalling and reinstalling connection mgr the laptop no longer
recognized the wireless pc card when I inserted it in slot.
To make a very long story shorter, yesterday I received another
wireless pc card and software (the same model) and went about
booting up the lp. I uninstalled all software from two days
before using add & remove in the control panel. Next, I ran disk
cleanup and defragged.
I decided to restart my lp before installing the wireless kit,
and have not logged on since.
However, I was able to get to Bios setup using F2. After several
moments of seeing nothing but "Entering setup..." at the bottom
of the screen, I pressed "esc" and a screen I have not seen
before came up and is as follows: (not entirely verbatim)
PhoenixBios 4.0 Release 6.0 e.t.c... Build 01/19/04 10:08
Notebook version KAM1.59
Bios ver.: KT3T T3C81 T3A
cpu: Mobile AMD XP Athlon processor 2800+
639K system RAM - passed
190K extended RAM - passed
512K cache SRAM - passed
System Bios - shadowed
Video Bios - shadowed
Toshiba MK6412MAT
Mouse initialized
I couldn't get anywhere else so I powered down using the power
button and here I am. Can someone please help me?
Here is the info on the blue screen from texastoy4her, the
technical info is different but everything else is verbatim.
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to
prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen then
restart your computer. If this screen appears again then follow
these steps.
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properlly
installed. If this is a new installation ask your hardware or
software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need
if the problem continues disable or remove any newly installed
hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as
cacheing and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to disable
or remove components then restart your computer and press F8 and
select advance options then safe mode.
Technical Information.

Thank you for your consideration and time...

I'm pretty sure that screen you saw when you hit ESC was the POST screen, something that's normal behavior for all computers.

I find it unlikely that any driver problems you could be facing in Windows is going to have an impact on the computer's ability to at least get to the loading screen.

I think the best option you have is to load up Windows using Safe Mode or the XP installation CD and doing a System Restore to a point preceding the installation of the Clearwire hardware. It sounds like it's all their fault.

Thank you Trelph. To satisfy my Motorola wireless pc card and Presario 2100 issue I decided to format the hard drive (not quick) and re-install the operating system using the cd as well as return both Motorla wireless pc cards and software to Clearwire. The HP website indicates that Broadcom is compatible with my laptop model. Wish me luck!
