New member, first post..... I have Windows XP Home and a new computer.. Within the last few days I cannot download anything from the internet... It did list all my downloads with the option of removing selected ones, now it's zero.. I cannot use search to find them; it's like they instantly disappear when it's supposed to start... I'm supposed to get my new Recovery Discs from HP in a couple days; could that be the answer? Thanks for help... odeanok

Open My Computer. Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK".

Now search for your downloads. They could be in hidden folders.

Thanks Cybertech... I did just what you suggested, searched for downloads and still came up empty... Maybe the recovery discs will get me set back up... supposed to be here Thursday... odeanok
