Hi,

I'm having a problem with the "My Documents" desktop folder (Windows XP). It does not open at all. I can move it somewhere else on the desktop...but when I double-click or right-click on it nothing happens.

It's not that big of a deal, because I can still access the folder through "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer", but I just thought it was a strange error. No other problems exist with the computer at all.

Any ideas? Thanks

Do you mean a Shortcut Icon on your Desktop to your My Documents folder?

It was a shortcut to the folder, but it wasn't an official "shortcut" (the icon doesn't have an arrow in the corner).

If you right click on any empty place on the Desktop . .Select Properties . . then click on the Desktop tab . . Customize ( at the bottom ) and put a check in My Documents to show on the desktop . . ok/apply out . . then can you use that icon?

Actually, it's a system shortcut. It should work. Right-click on it and click Properties. Then post the path here.

I actually deleted it and restored the icon like simpswr said, but it still doesn't work.

Nothing happens when I double-click or right-click on it. The only think I can do is delete it via the "delete" button on the keyboard.

don't delete/restore, delete the shortcut and rt click on my docs/create shortcut
