I thought I saw this addressed in this forum but couldn't find it.

A friend has an older computer and is running win95. When it boots up, the Windows logo screen come up nice and clear but when the desktop appears there are 4 or 5 desktops interposed over each other.

Any clues as to why or how to fix this?

As always, thanks in advance.

The first thing I would do is start in safe mode and see if the problem shows up. If it does I'd bet on the graphics card or monitor being shot. If it is OK then I would think that you may have the refresh rate and/or the mode setting too high for the monitor in question.

Give us some more info if you can, the question above about safe mode, what monitor and what refresh and mode settings you're trying to run, etc.?

Did he/she make any changes just prior to this starting?
