In MSCONFIG "Startup", I disabled launching a Roxio utility to burn a CD every time I insert a CD in a CD drive because I insert CD's for a number of reasons other that burning a CD.

Now I get the message shown in the attached file.

What Do I do?

Thank you.

That message is perfectly normal. Just checkmark it to not show this again and it won't come up again.

It came up because since you disabled a program from starting, you are considered to be in Selective Startup now.

Most of the entries in Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - Startup(tab) don't need to remain checked - which allows them to auto-load and run in the background all the time.

When the entire list in the "Startup Item" column is checked, your computer will be in NORMAL startup mode.

When one or more entries are unchecked, your computer will be in SELECTIVE startup mode.

Any time you uncheck or recheck entries and then restart your computer, the small System Configuration Utility window that you saw will appear.

As Cheeseball81 already advised you, this is normal.

As long as you put a checkmark in it before you click OK to close it, it won't appear again the next time you restart.

If you want any assistance with the rest of the startup list, let me know and I'll be glad to assist you.
