I've done searches on several different message boards, and I cannot get a coherant answer to my query.

If msconfig.exe does not exist in Win95, how should I go about finding out what files are being run at Start Up? And while I'm at it, is there a source to see what different files do? A File Dictionary of sorts? I want to delete files that I don't use and don't need, but I have not a clue as to what 90% of the files on my pc are for.

(PS: I don't have Zip-anything, so any Zip files ain't gonna be a happening thing for me.)

Thanks!

Brian:
I went to that sight: it says I can download the exe program, but it is STILL a ZIP file!

Lady:
Does doing the ctr/alt/delete provide me with the same info as having a panel of options to look at?

Alrighty: I went to Startup Cop on the second go-round = first time, the page said it no longer existed.

WHATEVER!

I will mess around with Startup Cop when my brain no longer feels as tho it will explode. (Too much information!! *AUGH*!!!)

Thanks to everyone who replied so quickly.

it shows you everything that is running... whether it is an application you started or one that was set in startup to run. If you want to disable it for the remaining time you are connected you can there by highlighting it then "end task"... but once you reboot it will start again.( preset items will)
