Please Help......I have problems with Windows XP Pro shutting down completely while on the internet. I use a dial up service and get shut down every now and then. It is getting very irritating. I've tried to download and install a patch from MS but it doesn't seem to be working. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Have you installed SP1.? Is it IE that shutsdown or the modem.

I have sp 1 installed, patch for this particular error, and the system still completely reboots.

sounds like a virus/trojan. Run "SpyBot S&D" (check for updates) and fix what it finds.Then get "HijackThis" run it and post the log here.

Blaster Worm?
You have any anti virus software? I heard there was a new type of the blaster worm, just more suttle. Not positive, tho it's worth a looking in to
