Moving ssd from laptop to newly build desktop

Im building a pc and i wanted to use the ssd from my laptop because i dont want to re buy windows 10. How wpuld i go about getting it on my pc? Cause i dont know if the product key is tied to the mother board or if i can just plop it over to the pc, and do a fresh install and use the same key

I think hard drives in laptops use a different connector than desktops.

The Windows in your laptop is OEM and the Windows Key is tied to the motherboard.
