Hello -- Some of my ".mov" video files that do not play correctly.

When selected, the Quicktime Media Player opens; when I press play the first four or five frames play correctly (i.e. two seconds or so); but then the image freezes, although the progress indicator below the screen continues to move forward.

The files seem to be complete, i.e. they have 30,000kb of data or whatever the appropriate length should be per file. The image quality is fine, but it freezes as described above.

Other ".mov" files work fine using Quicktime -- i.e., it's not a universal problem, it's file specific.

I'm using Quicktime 7.1.3, fresh installation. My system: Windows XP/SP2, Athlon 64, 1.5 gigs RAM, GeForce 7600GS. Almost all other video files (mpeg, wmv, etc) work fine via WMP.

Finally, I used "My Video Converter" to convert a .mov file to a wmv file, but same problem.

Are these files simply corrupt, or is there a workaround? Thanks!

Sorry I forgot this: the problematic files generate an error message:

"A buffer overrun has been detected, which has corrupted the program's internal state," etc.

Any thoughts?
