Are Mousepads with the wrist rests very effective at all in preventing, or at least helping ease, wrist or arm pain?
Been thinking of getting one, & was curious as to how effective, or ineffective, they are concerning the wrist and arm.

There is no way anyone can make that call with any degree of accuracy for another person, as the cause of pain is usually different for each person and relative to local environmental issues.

For some it will work, for others no.

I would recommend either trial and see, or better still visit a professional to have the cause of the pain diagnosed.

Often its due to other ergonomics than the use of the mouse (such as position, height etc)

So, if use this new mouse pad, I would only have to deal with hand numbness instead of wrist pain. Hmm. it sounds like I have to choose between less of two pains hand vs. writst . After looking at the pros and cons. I think that I will just stick with my conventional mouse pad and save some cash.

Crank your mouse sensitivity up so you don't have to move the mouse as much ... I crank my sensitivity up, and now only have to move my mouse at most an inch in any direction. It makes life easy on my arm and wrist

Yea I have mine set up all the way so it is easy to move all over the screen and I only have to move the mouse less then an inch. :D

No boy it is no for me.

I have the speed up all the way and the acceleration on high on mine and for me it is the best way to go.

I can keep my wrist in one spot and just move my fingers.
So try out the setting by playing around with them.

Re: cranking it up... lol It's different at first, but a LOT less fatigue once you're used to it.

Re: the wrist rest- I would've give mine up. I have a harder one at home, with just a fabric covering to cushion and a gel one here at work. I like them both, and they do help with fatigue for me since I tend to slouch my wrist otherwise.

'sides... I like the squishy feel.

Maybe I have an advantage because I have big hands but my wrist doesn't move at all when I use the mouse.

I put my thumb at the back left corner, and my pinky and ring finger along the right side of the mouse, my index finger just reaches the left button and my middle finger scrolls and right clicks.

To move the mouse I just move my fingers ... and to make sure my wrist isn't moving I just held it in place with my other hand and I can still move the mouse like before...my wrist doesn't budge.

I also don't use a mouse pad and wrest my wrist and forearm on the table.

I've *never* had a sore wrist from using the computer, and I use a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day, often much much more...

If you're left handed your watch always catches on the wrist rest (if you use your mouse right-handed like me).

But I've got one anyway because it makes my co-workers jealous!
