Mouse hangs when printing

619 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  uibrogan
I just got a new computer. While I'm printing, the mouse moves at a snails pace. This was not the case with my old computer, and this new one is suppose to be faster and better, with more memory etc. Is there something I'm suppose to check, or uncheck, to allow me to continue to work while things are printing? Running Win98. Thanks.

Hi

That's a new M$ feature to force you to look away from your screen and see if the printer is hanging up. Ergo saving eye strain! :D

Seriously, sometimes printers can real drag down resources. Have you tried Start/Run/msconfig and look at the start up list to see what all maybe running in the background?

John
I tried unchecking things in the msconfig file as suggested, but the problem persists. It seems like when the printing is in progress, the entire computer slows to such a crawl I can't even get to another screen.
