I am looking to maybe buy some more member after I buy a graphics card....

Question to you all is what kinda of memory would I be looking for?
Cause I have 256MB and im looking to increase that..
My desires is to improve my computer's speed and performance..

As I can NOT buy online, I would have to be buying memory at a store
(example: best buy , radio shack.) If you guys have any stores in mind that would be great..
My budget is around $20-$30.. yea..

If you have to buy in those places, you will fail unless you go in knowing what you need and here I mean specific model number. Go to www.crucial.com www.kingston.com or www.corsair.com and use configurators to put in either pc brand or motherboard model number and then copy down all the model numbers that are compatible and only buy those. You will have a tough time because the "brick and mortar" stores mostly carry closeouts at full price and old badly compatible models but such is life.

Go to the CRUCIAL site by using the link that Rich-M gave you. Once it loads, you'll see a "Scan My System" button. You'll need to allow it to install an activeX control when it asks your permission to do it. The scanner will then run. Once it's done, it should tell you what type of RAM is currently installed in your computer, how much RAM it supports, and what type of RAM modules it uses.

Can you tell us what the brand name, model name, and model number of that computer is?

There are several ways of increasing overall performance besides adding more RAM, so you should take advantage of that too.

What version of Windows is installed?

mhmh I have a office max AND circuit city near me. o_o'
You are wasting your time and 128 meg will be barely noticeable anyway...if you buy without using the configurators, it most likely won't run anyway.
Rich, see what you started????

Rich-M has a good point about the memory being difficult to find, but you may get lucky . . I see that memory on the shelves from time to time.

I disagree about the performance gain . . even adding just 128 will make a noticable difference . . 256 will help even more
