more help needed,,,,,i is just stupid

tool bar in bottom right hand corner in xp, will not remember to hide all icons that you do not want to show. it will hide all but the "local area conection, a network cable is unplugged " icon. you can hid it for the session you are on the computer but it will not stay hidden when you start up again.............most unusual. any and all help will be muchly apreciated ta

That's a hard one to hide. It keeps changing as connection speeds change and XP sees it as a new one each time.

If you don't want to see it, go to Network Connections, right-click the connection, and uncheck the box about showing the connection icon.
did that and it's not checked anyway so nothing new it's still there when you start the computer next
If you have an onboard NIC you can disable it in the bios.
