Monitor stops working from time to time

First of all, I would like to clear up that I am not sure if this is a hardware issue, but it most likely is.

So, I bought a new PC (specifications below) some time ago, and I've been using it for some time with a not so old monitor (Philips 196V3L) I already had. I did have to buy an adapter HDMI-VGA because my graphic card doesn't support VGA.

The issue is that sometimes, usually when playing games (specially Graveyard Keeper, Kerbal Space Program and some others) or using some kinds of software (like blender), the screen acts like it's been disconnected, only to come back seconds later or, in some cases, making me close the game so I can see again. I can only think of a trouble related to the graphic card, the adapter, or the vga cables. Recently, I got another second hand monitor (Dell 1907FP) with the same condition of needing an adapter. I had the same problem using it by itself, and it is worse when using them both together.

I would really appreciate any idea on where the problem comes from or how to solve it.

PC Specs:

Motherboard: MSI H310M PRO-VDH PLUS
CPU: Intel Core i3 9100
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Ram: DDR4 16GB (8*2)

Hello and welcome to TSG!!

First of all, it looks like you may have made things more complicated than they need to be.

Both of those monitors appear to have DVI ports. That GPU also has a DVI port. A simple DVI cable will connect either monitor to the system. That would eliminate the HDMI to VGA adapter completely.

A simple DisplayPort to DVI cable would work for the second monitor. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-...ocphy=9013534&hvtargid=pla-440931436681&psc=1
(I have not used this particular cable, and am not endorsing it. This is just an example of the sort of cable you'd need.)

A digital connection is preferable to VGA, especially with an adapter between!

Thank you a lot, I will check that out as soon as I can.

Well, after all I went for two DVI-D/HDMI cables, and so far so good. Thanks a lot for your advice.
