Monitor question

When my computer goes to sleep, my monitors flash bright blue because there is no input before they go to sleep too. My question is, is there some way to make the monitors not flash blue like that and just turn straight off? or is there a way to keep the monitors on but display a black screen and turn the backlight off. I play music through the computer to go to sleep so it needs to stay on at night, but I don't want to bother with turning the monitors back on physically, or wait for them to wake up in the morning if I don't have to.

Computer is running Windows 7 SP1, and the two monitors are Asus VN247H-P's.

Can you tape over or color/paint over the light or block it? But really, just turn the monitor off, it takes seconds for a monitor to turn on and Windows to wake it up. There's likely no way to just turn off the light. You can also disable the option to turn off the monitor in Windows then set a black background as a screensaver desktop.
