I have a viewsonic vx710 monitor and i turn it on but it instantly shuts off, even the little light on the power button goes off then it waits about 3-5 seconds then turns on a gain... when it turns on the image is that of what I would normally see, my desktop and everything seems fine, but then one half a second later it shuts off again and repeats the process forever. so i was hoping you could help me. you should also know that i have tried other monitors on this computer and they all work fine, so i dont think it is the computers fault.

It would be the monitor..as you have found out.....not sure how old it is but it either needs to go to the repair shop or replaced I would think.

Check with the place you bought it from and see if there is a warranty left on it.

i bought it on ebay so i dont think they will give me a warrenty. does anyone have any hardware advice to give, like can i replace the power source (if you think that will help) etc.?
