Following cleanup of my sister's PC to remove virus, malware etc, when try to connect to her VNC server remotely, it doesn't work and we get
"Unable to start a DCOM Server: {078AEF33-C48A-49F7-AFF3-A0EE810BFE7C}. The error:
"The system cannot find the file specified. "
Happened while starting this command:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxsrvc.exe"
message in the event log. This file is indeed missing.
I can't find it anywhere - on XP (home) CD, on other PCs, on Intel's site etc.
Can anyone help? Thanks.
VNC was working prior to cleanup; is(was) used to open her emails remotely for her to read etc (she's unable to use keyboard/mouse).

Hi Bonk
Thanks for quick response.
The site linked to seems to describe what igfxsrvc.exe is, and how to remove it, which is what I appear to have already done whilst removing malware etc.
My problem is the DCOM service, when starting up, is failing on trying to run this file.
So, I'd like to find a copy of this file and put it back on the computer (which hopefully will resolve the problem) ie the opposite of what these other sites are assuming I want to do.
Do you know of a site where I can download a copy? I can't find it on Intel's own site.
Thanks

Pretty sure I'm ok.
Viruses - clear on on-line scans (Trend and sophus), and from AVG full scan
Malware - clear on spybot, avg-antispy, adaware, windows defender
When cleaning up used sav32cli, smitfraud etc (it had been pretty nastily infected) and I am assuming (always dangerous) that one of these thought (perhaps correctly) that igfxsrvc was infected and removed or quarantined it.
I understand most systems don't need igfxsrvc.exe; it's being launched when I attempt to remotely connect.
I'm going over there on Friday - it's possible there's a copy in the PC's I386 directory but I'm trying to get a copy of everything beforehand as there's nothing worse than getting there and finding I can't sort it if I haven't tried all approaches beforehand.
Appreciate your assistance - and also appreciate you don't have infinite time etc.
Cheers
