missing icons in control panel...

hello!
the oddest (well, one of the oddest!) thing has happened...a few days ago i noticed some of the icons are missing in my control panel...for instance in appearance and themes, the display icon is missing...in printer/hardware, the mouse icon is gone...does anyone know how i can get these back? or what happened to begin with? when i switch to classic view, same thing...help me?

thanks for the quick replies guys! i've got nortons anti-virus 2004 loaded and updated...also have adaware...i'll try the "tweakie" thing...thanks again!
