Missing file in Windows XP: GAPI32.DLL

When I run Norton WinDoctor, I get a Problem message reading as follows: C:\Windows\System32\MAPISRVR.EXE cannot access a necessary file "gapi32.dll.

Is this file really indispensable? My system seems to be working normally, except for the fact that I could not get a HP DVD writer, that I purchase recently, to work.

When could I find the missing file? Is it OK to copy it from another computer?
