Microsoft support caught RAGING on customer!

I recently contacted Microsoft support for the fans issue in my PC.
As i activated the windows 10 pro using KMSPico (Popular Free Activator), she said that it is commercial but not for personal use. But it was personal machine though.
She asked how i got this key. I told i got it via "KMSPico".

But, then she told not to activate from that source. Then i told that if i don't activate, what will happen?
She told again that it is not recommended. So, i showed the proof that it isn't required while installing windows 10 using the media creation tool from this site.

She said, "ok i get it. but is for only a month trail.". I said, "will my PC lockout like ransomware if i don't activate?" (I asked politely cuz i don't know what will happen if i don't activate.).
But guess what?!? She said "YES". Here is the proof:

I told... "wait here." and i took the screenshot.
What do you think about this? I have created a poll above. And looks like the image is having issues. I posted another one below

KMSPico seems to offer an illegal way to activate Windows, which is ironic with Win 10 because upgrades from Win 7, 8 and 8.1 are still legally free.

Use the search terms "KMSPico illegal" to get an idea of what KMSPico is.

The image link in your original post wasn't an image. It opened a Google sign in page.
I think you needed a screen shot that you would then upload to TSG.
I've deleted the poll as this is not something that's open for opinions. Windows has to be activated or else it's a violation of the licensing terms. KMS is not a valid method of activation for a persional use computer so as it stands now your computer is not running genuine Windows. Why did you use KMS? If the computer came with Windows 10 it would have had a valid end-user license. If it had Windows 8 or 7 an upgrade to Windows 10 would have been free.
The point here is that the person who ever is in the chat is scaring me by saying your files will be corrupted.
It didn't come with windows 10. It was 7 years old.

And yes... it had windows 7 which was activated by a legal key. But later I installed windows 10 in it, it was free installation but didn't activate as you told that it will if the old one is activated.

It will likely be in reduced functionality mode. I don't see in your screenshot of the chat where they say anything about corrupted files. In any event, the uernames are different, we have no proof that it's a chat between you and the legitimate MS support.

I looked back at all your threads and didn't see where I told you this. Please provide a link to this. Generally that is true but if it doesn't activate then it's up to you to pursue the matter and find out why.
BTW, this would have been the reason why you couldn't change your personalization settings in your first thread here:

https://forums.techguy.org/threads/some-settings-are-managed-by-your-organization-issue.1226033/

You can't do that if Windows isn't activated.

The important point to note is that if the upgrade to 10 was from 8 then Windows 8 is often digitally licensed and it is not necessary to input a key (licence key otherwise known as product key), as the hardware hash of the computer is registered on the Microsoft activation servers.

However Windows 7 was not digitally licensed and when upgrading from 7 to 10 it is often necessary to activate windows 10 by using the Windows 7 product key
Another important point to note is that the Windows 10 installed must match the Windows 7 that was installed
See screenshot

That is a screen that appears during the installation process, IF the present licence for 7 has not been detected.
AFTER the installation if you were NOT presented with that screen OR you selected I do not have a product key then IF YOU DO have the key for 7 you may still activate 10 by going to settings and entering the key for 7 where it reports not activated or in your case - change product key

Please be aware that Windows 7 Enterprise editions are not dealt with under such procedures and a separate process. However I presume that your 7 was NOT Enterprise.

You can try contacting them via the virtual agent. That will be the same. And I asked that if I didn't activate, will the files be corrupted by ransomware? That is the corruption you asked.

Your image states " Will it lock my data as a ransomware"
Response " Yes, It might be"

That's not corruption. It's the potential inability to access your data by not using an activated Windows.

BTW, ransomeware encrypts data. You pay to get the key to unlock it.

Is your windows in a reduced functionality mode?
Have you had any data made inaccessible?

Once you get straightened away with MS, it's a good time to think about backing up both your data and a drive image of your newly validated OS.

Recently, I had Win 7 go non genuine after about 8 years and it was the original factory OEM install.
It went into reduced functionally , but no data was lost. None inaccessible at the time.
The TSG forum helped me correct it.
Exact cause unknown, but the fix was legit and easy. All I had to do was re-activate it.

So, just activate your Windows. And life will be good again :D

And although you appear to have completely ignored my post 12, I feel bound to point out that whatever the lady said or meant is largely irrelevant, you activated Windows using a crack, the reason being that it was NOT simply a KMS key, which you used but KMSPico which as their website says - works like this
KMSpico is the most successful, frequently updated and 100% clean tool to permanently activate any version of Windows or Microsoft office within matter of seconds.

"KMS" (Key Management Service) is a technology used by Microsoft to activate software deployed in bulk (e.g., in a corporate environment). What KMSpico does is to replace the installed key with a volume license key, create an emulated instance of a KMS server on your machine (or in previous iterations of the software, search for KMS servers online) and force the products to activate against this KMS server.

KMS activation only lasts for 180 days after which, it must be activated again. However, by using KMSpico, an activation service is created which runs KMSpico twice a day to reset this counter.
It should be clear to anyone that it is a crack and I am sure you knew that.
In fact the KMSPico website actually tells you that
As we all know that it is a type of illegal tool because piracy of any software is illegal.

In order to achieve such goal the software makes various changes to registry keys and other aspects of the Windows system.
Some of these aspects relate to the security system inbuilt into 10

If these changes were NOT made, Windows 10 would NEVER proceed to load.

Finally, if as you say you had a licensed Windows 7, in use on that computer according to the licence conditions, and eligible for the upgrade, why did you not just proceed as outlined.

Indeed.

Being a crack, and that cracks are frequently associated with malware/trojans and such, it would probably be better to re-instal Win 10 ( downloaded from a MS link) and activate it properly.
