Micro SD card "Older" vs. "Newer" version?

Manufacturers may upgrade either internal hardware or firmware (software that makes the device work), but keep the same model number. There may be some indication in numbering on the device itself, but there will at least be on the packaging. This does not mean the older version will not work. it just means the mfr. made some changes, hopefully for the betterment of the product.

To store files, you'd be better off with an external hard drive. SD cards are not meant for archival storage.

If you are going to go with one of these cards, though, for another buck you can double the size of the first (High Endurance) device.

I'd say the High Endurance would be your better bet, but don't store anything on there that you wouldn't cry over losing. I'm not saying you will lose data, but these things are not meant for archival storage.

Thanks.

I store things on sd and microsd cards BUT I have a backup either on CD/DVD or USB sticks.
I always have at least 2 copies of files stored off the computers.
So files on USBs last better than SD cards?
