Mic not working

Alright basically my mic always worked fine and then i changed my OS to vista. I downloaded the latest driver and made sure it was plugged in right, and it still doesn't work. I checked the hardware settings and it says that my mic is working fine but it says that my "line in" is currently unavailable. So if anyone could help, that'd be great. thanks

Go into your Master Volume window - right click on your sound icon bottom right hand corner and click on volume control. Go to options under File and check your mic and inline so their open. Make sure their unmuted. Jazz

hey thanks for all your help. I got it figured out. Well actually alli did was reset the default to my "line in" and switched it back. And it worked. Gotta love computers.
