If you have a computer that only requires 266Mhz RAM then going to 333Mhz RAM will have no effect. You may be able to change the RAM frequency to a higher speed in the BIOS setup to run at inpendeently of the CPU FSB but it won't give that much of a performance difference. In some cases you can mix RAM speeds and the faster will run at the lower speed.
