On my win task mgr I usally use 25- 26 memory ussage but lately its been running at 70 - 156 thousand. Also my virtual mem goes up to, is there any way to find out whats causing this? I'm running ff 1.5.0.9, when I downloaded 2 it was slow. Firefox is whats using all the memory stuff.

Hi Jarhead82
I dont think your problem is firefox.I will give you my task master reading with firefox and the desktop.
Desktop only Cpu usage 1 to 2% Pagefile memory 197MB Physical available 1711224K
Firefox Cpu " 1 to 4% Pagefile memory 209MB Physical available 1690728K
How often do you defrag your PC I have also found it is worth removing firefox and all it folders using start and search. My pc uses F8 to go to safe Mode but midway down the list click to start in the last good configeration This will clear any little blip.
Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Under Processes select View and expand your processes to include CPU time (cumulative for each process), Memory usage and VM size, both are specific to the individual process. You can see a lot better what is using memory and CPU time.

And if you click on the Mem Usage heading (or any of the others) it will sort them for you lowest to highest, click on it again - voila! Highest to lowest...

Keep an eye on the top few. Image name (far left) will help.....
