Usually issues like this are due to hardware that is hooked up or programs. Try unplugging USB hardware, and disc from the internet before shutting down and seeing if that helps.
ME Closedown problems
When I try to closedown my PC (ME) it always takes a long time and about 50% of the time I get a blank screen (not blue) and have to switch it off manually. Any ideas?
