Hi there,
I installed Mandrake over my windows installation but it have erased Windows boot record. So I booted into Windows recovery console and i tried fixboot and fixmbr. I can't boot anything now.... I tried the mandrake recovery thing but it change nothing..... Ther is just a _ bar flashing after he try to boot from the cd-rom

try this......boot from your windows recovery CD and select boot from cd ...then select boot MSDOS...

from the MSdos prompt...try this.....FDISK/mbr.....this should reinstall the MBR allowing you to boot windows....it worked for me when i had a problem a few month ago installing RH9 upgrade...:)

fdisk /mbr from DOS 7 will work if this is an UltraDMA disk...

Thanks for your help guyz but none of this worked. I decided to reinstall windows. Now it works. I now Ive installed Debian and I can boot from a disk. But now I have another problem. WHen i boot in debian, my screen is flashing very slowly (like 15 sec close,2 sec open) and I cant run xwindow. He said there is no usable mode for the screen... Im so tired installing linux... It have been for like a month im trying to make it work....anyway thanks for your help,
