Malicious software - Requesting a Levelset

I would like to know if I am taking sufficient precautions against malicious software.

I had had considerable trouble in the past and recieved wonderful help from people in this forum.

I use

Norton Antivirus is run automatically and kept updated via LiveUpdate. OneButtonCheckup runs automatically once a week. Full system scan conducted once a month.

All the spyware-oriented stuff is kept up to date and executed once a week.

Haven't had any problems since I began using this regimen.

Is there more I should be doing to protect my system? Is any of this stuf redundant? Are there any major gaps in my protection plan?
