I've been checking around for a mail merge and faxing program and found that MS word can handle it all.. My only problem is when I goto Tools -> Letters & Mailings -> Mail Merge, faxes are not a part of it.. I am running WinXP Home with Fax Services installed, and I (think) I have re-installed the Document Image Writer Driver through the MS Office 2k3 setup disk.. I tried finding information on what exactly needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled to do that, I couldn't find any.. So I uninstalled the Faxes and Mail Merge functions and re-installed them.. Any help would be greatly appriciated :D

Are you sure it's not available? Set up a quick mail merge, then hit MERGE. From there, you should have choices like:

new document
printer
electronic mail
fax

I've never done it, but most people are looking for "fax" or "email" as being the document type, and it's not.

thanx for the reply Dreamboat :)

I tried that, and when the dialog box pops up with all the choices, "faxes" are greyed out..

ok, if I install fax services from the add/remove programs section of XP (which I did), is that all I need, or would there be other fax software that would be needed? Or even, could it be a problem with running XP Home and not Pro?

Okay. Candy and I decided I might be right about this, so try this...

If you have not yet used Word to fax something, do so now. If I recall (older versions), the first time you fax, it takes you through some kinda wizard or something. Maybe...if that's not been done yet, it doesn't show up for merging.

NOTE: Shot in dark here, kid!
