i get this MCE error sometimes. can anyone help, and say what causes this error?

Machine_Check_Excetion

ive changed sound cards, drivers for both vid and sound. changed ram.
im down to a bios error, MB problem, video card prob or bad CPU.

Wow, I haven't seen an MCE since my mainframe days! You should feel special! ;)

When this happened more than once, I'd get a CE (hardware mechanic) involved,and they'd ultimately update microcode, or memory cards.

The only thing I found that may be a ray of hope is an active thread elsewhere:

Check it out and monitor it. Even butt in with additional info if you have any.

Meanwhile perhaps someone will add comments here as well.
