Hiya and welcome

Go to Outlook Express and if it asks for a password, click Cancel. Tools | Accounts. Mail tab. There should be only one server in there.
Now, choose the one that is your server, eg icsd.k12.ny.us

Do you know it?

If it says, and I'm using this (icsd.k12.ny.us) as its from a site about iMac's, icsd.k12.ny.us;franklin or anything else choose properties. Server tab. Check that your incoming mail (POP) is icsd.k12.ny.us and outgoing mail (SMTP) has yourlocalisp.com
Unless you know what you are changing, don't change anything.

Now, from what you can read from above, here is it in a nutshell. What is the name of your ISP that you dial up with? Have you got the correct POP and SMTP's?

Just a guess really as I'm on PC's

Regards

Go to Edit> Preferences> Accounts. In there select your account, then verify the SMTP settings. I know most of them, so if you tell me what your ISP is, i can tell you what your SMTP server should be. Often times, you get this if you are supposed to connect to one server, but you dialed into another without reconfiguring your email. Check it out... And upgrade to IE 5 and OE 5. Visit Mactopia.com to download them.
