XP Home OEM edition
sata drive 160GB
Had a corrupt registry and was unable to boot ...... something about unable to find windows\system32\config\system. I managed to recover windows by substituting system from the repair folder but as it was an OEM version the accounts Identifiers have been change and I cannot logon:- error message "lsass.exe system error when trying to update a password the return status indicates that a value returned is not correct"
I have installed another drive ( xp pro ) on the eide channel and I am able to see all the users data on the sata drive however I don't want to lose his apps etc. Is there an way to reset the accounts? I tried to reset passwords using a password cracker but that didn't work. Thanks in advance.
