Can anyone recommend a text or phrase finder so I can locate it on my HD? Something like Google desktop. I need to find a word, name, phrase within a folder that contains many document. Helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

How about Start, Search? Already built into your Windows O/S.

Will that search for text within folders or subfolders?

When you do Search > All files and folders you can have it search for the actual filename or folder name, or you can search for a phrase that's inside a file. Put the phrase in quotes.

Where it says 'Look in:', it will look in that folder and all subfolders.

Another option is Agent Ransack. Have used it for about a year.Have found it seems to do a quicker and more thorough search than Windows search function.
