I can log onto hotmail through my browser, but when trying to logon in outlook express or incredimail, and logon box appears asking me to verify my username and password (which I do six million times) and an error comes back....

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Unauthorized', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32

Can anyone help with this problem please

have you checked all the settings correctly - sometimes a virus scanner can change the default settings

I tried to set up my hotmail account and recieved this message

Access to Hotmail via Outlook and Outlook Express now requires a subscription. Please sign up at http://join.msn.com/general/Email

mine is an old account.....and ifollowed these instructions

Either from the desktop, or from the Start menu, open Outlook Express..
In Outlook Express, click on the Tools menu. From this menu, click on Accounts. This should bring up a window labeled Internet Account. Click on the Mail tab. Click on the Add button, then click on Mail.
In the Display Name field, type your name as you would like it to appear in the from field of an email. Click on Next.
If you already have a Hotmail account, in the E-mail Address field, type in your Hotmail email address and click Next. Go to Step 5. Otherwise, click on I would like to sign up for a new account from Hotmail, and click Next. Click on Finish, and go through the account signup.
In the Incoming mail server field, the mail server name should already be entered. The Outgoing mail server field should be blank. The server type should be set to HTTP. Click on Next.
In the Account Name field, your Hotmail username should already be entered. Hit the Tab key on your keyboard, and type in your Hotmail password. Click on Next.
Click on Finish.

Hi

My Hotmail also stopped working after reinstalling XP and downloading IE7. I have an old free hotmail account that can access http mail in outlook for free stil.

I was also getting an error saying my login was incorrect (error 0x800ccc32) After much searching I found this fix and it sorted mine out!

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904942/

Scroll down to the bottom and download and install the fix for XP.

Once you have restarted your PC, your outlook will work with its preset hotmail settings :)

hope it works for you too. Katy
