The log on screen all of a sudden is appearing now when it never did before when I start my computer. Before it would just go to my desk top after the welcome screen. How can I get it to go back to the way it was?

If you are the only User go Control Panel then User Accounts then Choose the way Users Log On /Off and tick the Use the Welcome screen

This will not work if you have anothers user accounts

On mine I am the only user Admin and the Guest account is switched OFF

bonk, I did what you said to do, now the user account screen doesn't appear but the "Log on to windows" screen appear where it has my user name and ask for a password but I just click okay and it goes to my desk top. Before this issue, I could start or reboot and walk away and when I come back it's on my desk top. No user account screen and no log on to windows screen. It just goes straight to the desk top, also now it takes almost 10 mintues to completely bootup. I only have 3 items in my startup configuration.
