I Noticed when I goto task manager There are 2 local area conections 1 says operational the other says not operational. The operational one say it is utilizing anywhere from .4 % to 95 %. . I was reffered here from the security forum, I noticed this while haveing some problems with my PC. Thought it was a virus or that someone had hacked into it. This may be totaly normal , I am just not sure. I have no other computers that should be connecting to this one.

Thanks for your help

That's normal if you have two connections enabled and have one unconnected and actively using the other one.

what he said. I"ve got the same situation, and I actually am using l.a.c. 2, with 1 disabled. Not entirely sure how I got it like that (probably when I set up the network) but it's always worked, so I don't complain.

Are you doing anything when you're checking task manager? How long is the network utilization up at 95%? Is your card a 10/100mbps or only something like a 10mbps?

I am not sure what the card is, the one that is operational says link speed of 1 mps the other says 10 mps. To the first question no not doing anything when I open task manager. I originally opened trying to see what was slowing down my computer. Still have not had any luck with that but I noticed the extra LAC that was not always there.
