Working on a friends laptop (Vostro 3550) running Win 7 64-bit and IE11. When I open an email on windows livemail, I get the following message in a dialog window.

"Line: 48 Error: Unable to get property 'focus' of undefined or null reference"

Some email content appears in gibberish (code?) and others are normal. Googled the problem and came up with all kinds of radical suggestions ranging from a problem with Silverlight to Java script.

I just finished running various malware scanners (AdwCleaner, Superantispyware and Malwarbytes) which found multiple Trojans (20) and successfully quarantined them. Not sure if this belongs in the malware forum or Win7 forum.

'Preciate any and all thoughts and/or opinions.

pretty sure that's java.......first thing I'd do would be uninstall the java from their rig now, and then go d/l the latest and greatest from them.

Thanks the response valis... I had thought to do just that, but wanted to get some thoughts on it before doing so. I'll post back with results.
