Everything with XP install went fine. I installed drivers which was a breeze. Then i plugged in my internet and i have no connection (limited or no connectivity). I checked in device manager and all drivers were installed correctly. I tried winsock XP fix but that didnt help. I know it isnt the connection itself because i am on a different computer but the same connection so something is wrong with the computer. Any suggestions??

Welcome, Blakeoman.

"Any suggestions??"

Describe your network.

If it is just broadband modem to computer maybe you forgot to power cycle the modem.

Are you sure the ethernet cable is good?

Do you have a 3rd party firewall installed? If so, it may be blocking access tightly enough to prevent acquiring an IP configuration.

Device Manager - ethernet adapter properties - Advanced tab. Assuming you have a "speed and duplex" option, the best is usually "auto detect.' But some modems/cables/adapters refuse to play nice, so try other options.
