Lexmark X83 Does Not Print Color

MY LEXMARK X83 WILL NOT PRINT COLOR. BLACK IS OK. IT IS AS IF THE PRINTER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS A COLOR CARTRIDGE INSTALLED. I HAVE TRIED REINSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE BUT THE CARTRIDGE MAINTENANCE PAGE INDICATES NO COLOR CARTRIDGE. I HAVE UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED THE PRINTER TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE THE LATEST DRIVER. I AM OPERATING WIN XP. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. CAN ANYONE HELP?????

Could B a bad cartridge or the or the holder is dirty! Try cleaning the cartridge tray and B careful where the ribbon meets the cartridge and try again!
